Use Low Voltage Landscape Lighting

When you are ready to show off all of the hard yard work you have accomplished this spring you have a choice between low voltage landscape lighting and solar lights for your yard. This could be a difficult choice but once you consider the location of your home and all the features of lower voltage lighting in comparison to the solar outdoor lights you may feel swayed one way.

First of all, if you wouldn't want to deal with the cables and electricity outdoors, you may choose solar lights for your outdoor landscape design. These units are a bit more pricy than other standard landscape lighting but they are simple to install. The ease of the installation alone is not the only reason to consider the solar lights when choosing outdoor lighting, though.

You should definitely take into consideration the location of your home. I chose solar lights over wired landscape lights simply because they were easier to install. There were no wires to hide and no electricity was being used at any time. The bigger price tag I found was well worth the savings we would benefit from in time alone. Unfortunately, we did not consider our overall landscape when making this decision. We live in a very secluded area which needs extra outdoor lighting. We just didn’t realize that it needed standard landscape lighting instead of the solar version. The solar lights worked pretty well but they were relatively dim. Even the low voltage versions would have been brighter.

We eventually installed the low voltage landscape lighting and we were amazed by the difference. This outdoor illumination was worth the work and the whole learning experience may have been more expensive but in the end it was the correct decision for our lighting needs.
